My Experience with Allergy Desensitizing Technique
by Kimberley Brown
I have benefitted from multiple dimensions of chiropractic care and nutrition and supplement therapy for more than two decades. It was only in 2016 that I undertook what became a year-long allergy treatment protocol with Dr. Jeanne Kennedy Crosby. Many dimensions of the procedure were familiar to me because of previous work I had done with Dr. Karen Wager. However, the standardization and consistency of the clearing protocol demanded more attention from me. Focus is never a bad thing. For each appointment, there were roughly 7 substances that were cleared. Because there were a lot of things to test, the process took a long time—basically a year. About three months out from finishing, I can say the procedure works and is both powerful and long-lasting.
Five years ago, I had breast cancer surgery followed by four rounds of chemotherapy. A permanent side effect was greater reactivity to everything I had been allergic to before—foods, airborne allergens, and metals. It was very frustrating, as I became gluten-free, mostly grain-free, soy, and nightshade free. So when I began the protocol, my hope was simply to be able to reintroduce some foods, some of the time.
This is exactly what has happened. I am generally less reactive to things that would have knocked me out of commission before. Some tomatoes, some brown rice, and even some eggplant have been ok. I cannot describe the level of elation I have felt.
Kind of parallel to the allergy response protocol has been a personal investment in a type of energy work called Jin Shin Jyutsu. I feel that I have become a more active partner in my own health care.
