Food sensitivities are being identified more and more as one underlying cause of a variety of health problems and symptoms.
Food sensitivities are different from food allergies, which is an acute/intense immune response: swelling, hives, vomiting, wheezing. Can be near-fatal, or fatal. Counter-acted with epinephrine injections: usually nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk.
Food sensitivities can promote a variety of symptoms which may or may not be obviously related to a certain food or foods. Chronic pain, headache, disruptions in digestion like bloating, constipation, diarrhea and acid reflux, infertility, arthritis, PMS and menstrual pain. These symptoms can be significantly relieved when the food sensitivity is identified and the food is eliminated from the diet.
The Gluten-Free diet has become so popular as a way to control symptoms that many health care providers and nutrition educators are providing testing and resources, while restaurants food manufacturers are finding a new market for gluten free products, and they’re becoming more and more widely available.
While the practice of avoiding gluten can help some people find some relief, it often doesn’t do enough to completely resolve the symptoms that prompted the lifestyle change to begin with. Other very common food sensitivities include corn, soy, sugar, dairy products, and eggs. Many people can’t handle wheat but oats are OK for them, even though it is a gluten food. Some people are sensitive to all grains, including rice.
Because sugar is one of the more universal food sensitivities that often goes unidentified, a gluten-free regimen can be only marginally affective because many people load up on gluten-free sweets and think they are less detrimental. Also, corn is a common substitution for those avoiding gluten, and it is rarely well-tolerated because so much of the corn supply is genetically modified now.
A more individualized and test for identifying a person’s food sensitivities is available now with a no blood or skin tests for a fraction of what an allergy testing process would cost. This is Nutrition Response Testing, which used muscle testing to determine the best course of treatment and also essential lifestyle factors that need to be addressed for optimum healing function, including any foods to be avoided and eating for your best possible health. This same test will also reveal other known factors that prevent a body from healing itself:
Heavy Metal Toxicity: The most long-lasting and fundamental challenge to your immune system, constitution, and normal nervous system regulation (healing).
Chemical Sensitivity: Chlorine and pesticides are commonly found to affect the ability to heal naturally.
Immune Challenges: Viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungal yeast can hang around the body for months or even years, suppressing natural healing.
After a period of elimination, it’s common to develop a more acute sense of exposure to foods to which you are sensitive, but you can bounce back much easier from that exposure on an accurate nutritional healing program, and feel good again. It’s still important to practice avoiding the food while your body heals.
Having a Nutrition Response Testing evaluation makes it possible to know for sure what the best diet is for you, and guides your healing process from the fine-tuning and healing phases to the health maintenance phase of care.
